So why is it that there continues to be several hundred million people, being subjected to this, in the world today?
Is it greed?
Is it that there isn't enough to go around?
Have one half of the world lived much beyond their means and now the rest must go without?
Is there any real justification as to why one person can be a billionaire and another, the same age and gender, can be so desperastely deprived?
This is not a problem that will go away. Giving what you can, when you can could make all the difference in the world. You may reason "What difference is a euro going to make?" If you were cold on the streets, a euro would buy you a little comfort, maybe a chocolate bar or a plain roll. In places further away it can go much further. Who are we, of such priviledged lives, to question how the money is spent as long as its well spent. A baby eating for a week or two on a euro is well spent to me.
How do you feel about poverty? Do you feel its any relevance to you? Do you wish to reach out a hand to those who can barely lift their own?
